Web Address (a.k.a Domain Name)

Your web site needs an address, so that your visitors know where to find it.

If you don't have a web address, also known as a domain name, we can provide one. It has to have a form of:

  • www.yourclubname.bridge-club.org, or
  • www.yourclubname.bridge-centre.org.

If you already have a domain name, you can use it with our service.

If you don't have a domain name, but you don't like the one we offer, that's fine too. Bear in mind that the domains we offer are for free and you don't have to worry about renewing the lease, or managing it technically, which are the activities you'll have to deal with when going with your own domain name.

In addition to the web site address, we can arrange email aliases for your new domain. This applies only to customers who opted to have one of the web addresses we supply.

You can nominate a reasonable number of email addresses that would look like, for instance, treasurer@yourclubname.bridge-club.org, and be mapped to a real email address of a person it refers to, like john.smith@gmail.com. Any emails sent to the address in the club's domain would be automatically forwarded to the real mailbox. This is very convenient when you have a change of club officers. All you need to do is request an update to the email alias and the emails will be redirected to the new official.
